Debate is a powerful tool that transforms the lives of the nation’s youth. By increasing self-confidence and oral advocacy skills, it produces engaged student populations that excel in the academic arena. The Computer Assisted Debate Project is a vital after-school learning opportunity that will strengthen our communities. Your support is essential to the project’s success!

• Serve as a debate coach/volunteer.
If you have had high school or college debate experience that is helpful but not essential. If you have time and an interest in becoming involved, college faculty and students from Georgia State and Emory University will help provide you with the skills to coach the students.
• Serve as a debate judge.
If you have the time to evaluate debates at the monthly tournaments, you can be very helpful. No debate background is necessary. You simply need a willingness to listen to the students and provide an assessment of who has been more persuasive. Training
will be provided at each tournament by Emory University faculty
• Seed a new debate community.
If you are willing to financially contribute to the Computer Assisted Debate Project, we can open the opportunity to participate to children that live in communities outside of Bowen Homes and Hollywood Court Apartments. CAD welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals and organizations wishing to pool their resources to create sustainable programs throughout the metro Atlanta area.
